Public Wi-Fi in West Sussex

Katie was engaged by North to assist with securing the necessary planning permissions for the roll out of free public Wi-Fi across a range of sites in West Sussex as a pilot for their ‘Connected Spaces’ project.

For a scheme at Cuckfield Recreation Ground in  Mid-Sussex Council, Katie prepared a Planning Statement which clearly explained the benefits of the project and set out a positive assessment of the planning merits of the proposal, including explaining adherence with planning policies which protect trees, visual amenity and the Conservation Area. Large extracts of the Planning statement were included with positive local press stories about the planning application.

Katie liaised with the Council’s Planning Officers and Councillors who were supportive of the benefits of the scheme and the Planning Committee voted unanimously to Grant Planning Permission.

Katie has worked with North to secure two more approvals for Wi-Fi installations on sites at Selsey Beach in Chichester and is collaborating on other locations.
