Neighbour Objections
Receiving a letter from a local council advising of the submission of a planning application can often come as a support and the associated urgent deadlines for response result in neighbouring residents feeling anxious.
Katie can assist client with understanding what is proposed in the plans accompanying the planning application and providing objective advice on the likelihood of challenging the planning application.
Katie uses her local authority background to draft letters of objection that highlight matters that will be pertinent to the Planning Officer’s assessment of the planning application and focus on confirm with local and national planning policies and development standards to maximise the weight that will be given to the objection when the planning application is decided.
Katie will also assist developers in engaging with neighbours prior to submission of an application and also in responding to concerns raised by neighbours during the course of an application.
Before taking instruction from a neighbouring property, Katie will undertake a Conflict of Interest check to ensure that she has not previously worked for the developer.
